My oldest son turned 10 years old in October this year! Wow! There is no way that I am old enough to have a 10 year old child! He is getting to the age where buying gifts is really hard. He is a little too old for a lot of the toys and I hate just buying him video games. I thought just getting him cloths was a great idea but I he didn’t agree with me.
He has been asking for a BB gun for a while and my hubby and I decided that this year was a good year to bite the bullet and let him have one. Of course, the first thing I thought of when talking about getting him a BB gun was A Christmas Story and the saying
“You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out”.
Our Christmas season is never complete with out watching A Christmas Story at least a couple times. It is hilarious no matter how many times we watch it.
After spending time online at the Daisy Website, we decided that the perfect BB gun to get him was the Daisy Red Ryder Carbine BB Gun from the movie.
We were planning a trip to Cabela’s so decided it was a good time to pick up the Daisy while we were there. You can see our shopping trip over HERE.
Cabela’s is one of my boys very favorite places to shop. Not only is there any type of hunting or fishing product that you would ever need, the store also has a lot of fun things to look at while you shop. They can never get enough of the animals and fish on display.
It was really easy to find the Daisy Red Ryder in the store, there was actually a lot of Daisy Outdoor product options at Cabela’s including the Red Ryder and a really cute Pink Carbine model that would be so much fun for girls. . We picked up the BB gun as well as eye protection for my son to wear while he is using it and a couple other gifts.
One of my greatest concerns about giving my son a BB gun for Christmas is the safety. While I was on the Daisy website, I noticed some shooting safety rules. So, I put together a colorful sheet that I printed out laminated it and included with the gift. There is a quiz that you can even take at the Daisy website as well. You can print your own Gun Safety Rules that I have created over HERE.
When we got home, I had to get the BB gun hidden right away. But, after my son went to school the next morning, I got it back out and was going to wrap it. But, I decided on Christmas morning, I would leave it under the tree unwrapped so he will see it right when he comes down the steps. I know that he will be super excited and want to use it right away!
